Sweet Haven Tonics

During a recent visit to New Ulm, MN, a friend and I were walking down main street doing some shopping. We walked by this place, Sweet Haven Tonics, and both thought maybe it was a chocolate shop. Ha! After turning around and taking a peek inside, we discovered a charming cocktail lounge with soft lighting, leather sofas, and high-top tables. We walked in and were immediately welcomed by a friendly hostess who asked if we knew about Sweet Haven Tonics. When we both said we hadn’t heard of it, she explained to us what this place was all about. Come along as I share all we experienced at this fantastic place in New Ulm, MN!

This cocktail lounge was the perfect spot for my friend and I to enjoy handcrafted cocktails and mocktails, a delicious charcuterie board, and good conversation!

Sweet Haven Tonics takes their drinks very seriously! They use only the freshest ingredients and the finest spirits to create cocktails that are both classic and modern. Whether you’re in the mood for a Sconi Old Fashioned or a Spicy Margarita they’ve got something that’ll hit the spot. Any drink on the menu can be made as a mocktail – I ordered the Rye Old Fashion as a mocktail, and it was so tasty! They used one large square ice cube and garnished my drink with a spicy orange slice – so fancy! Sweet Haven Tonics also has a great selection of hard cider, beer, and delicious wine.

It was about time for lunch, so my friend and I snacked on a beautiful charcuterie board with a variety of gourmet cheeses (my favorite!), cured meats, crackers, fruit (grapes and dried apricots), nuts, olives, and gourmet caramels. This charcuterie board was unbelievably good! If you’re not as hungry you can order a quick snack bowl with a smaller portion of nuts and crackers.

Sweet Haven Tonics provided an exceptional experience for me and my friend! As I looked around during our visit, I saw others hanging out at tables and on comfy sofas enjoying their time with those they were with.
