The Confluence Hotel (Hastings, MN)

On a lovely Fall weekend, I took a little getaway to Hastings, MN. During my visit I stayed at the stunning The Confluence Hotel located on the riverfront in Hastings. Once the H.D. Hudson Manufacturing Company Factory, this building was restored to bring new life and create a destination along the Mississippi River. Come along as I share about my stay at The Confluence Hotel!

This boutique hotel features 77 rooms and suites, which offers traditions of the region along with the upscale style of the historic downtown Hastings. The hotel features Missi’s, a casual bar and restaurant that attracts visitors and locals alike and has an event space with breathtaking views of the river and the Hastings Bridge.

Walking in the front door of the hotel I was greeted with an attractive sitting area that lured me in with its lavish furniture and plush pillows. Had I brought along a good book, I just may have curled up on one of the comfortable highbacked reading chairs and hung out for a while!

Checking into The Confluence Hotel was easy and convenient, and everyone was so welcoming! I was introduced to the bar and restaurant, Missi’s, which is on the first floor of the hotel next to the lobby and given complimentary bottles of water. More to come about Missi’s…stay tuned!

My one-of-a-kind guestroom, consisting of two plush queen-size beds adorned with pillow-top mattresses, was such an attractive room! It was decked out in blues and grays with beautiful white brick walls – so calming and relaxing. It was a nod to the property’s historic roots, but also incorporated modern conveniences such as a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, complimentary Wi-Fi, a flat-screen television, and plenty of plug-ins for technology devices, ensuring I had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. For those visiting on business, a functional workspace is readily available. The hotel also offers other room types that include sofa beds and more space to spread out.

Prior to my visit, I made dinner reservations online for Hastings’ newest culinary haven, Missi’s. I’m sure glad I did as it was starting to fill up when I left my guestroom and headed toward the restaurant for dinner. The restaurant offered an amazing experience, with stunning views of the Mississippi River (hence the name, Missi’s – get it?!) and exceptional cuisine. I enjoyed the oh so tender filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables – the house steak sauce was perfect! – and Riverfront Sangria with fresh oranges, local apples, and berries infused with a hint of cinnamon and sweetened with honey. Lastly, I delighted in the peanut butter cheesecake (hungry yet?) for dessert. This was truly one of the best meals I’ve had in quite a while!

After dinner I did some exploring of the riverfront reprieve right outside the restaurant, otherwise known as BKYD (Backyard), a space designed to entertain. This relaxing outdoor getaway offers panoramic views of the Mississippi River and the Hastings Bridge. It was a bit chilly on that Fall evening, but I look forward to coming back in the summertime to take in the spectacular views with a refreshing drink and tasty dish!

The Confluence Hotel offers a variety of flexible event spaces perfectly suited for 6 to 300 guests. The luxurious furnishings coupled with state-of-the-art audiovisual and wireless technology make for beautiful and productive events such as weddings and large or small meetings.

While visiting The Confluence Hotel be sure to check out the historic downtown Hastings and local attractions that sit at the confluence of the mighty Mississippi and St. Croix rivers just a short distance from the hotel. On Saturday, I visited the Lock and Dam Eatery for lunch and had incredible lasagna with layers of pasta, marinara, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and Italian sausage, and also stepped into The Busted Nut Bar & Grill for a drink. No worries, I also stepped into some shops and boutiques and did some shopping at such places as Gifts Galore and Quaint & Quirky! I also did some antique shopping at Vintage Inspirations. Such beautiful places to visit and shop!

The Confluence Hotel and downtown Hastings are absolutely amazing! No matter the season, be sure to check out this beautiful area! Enjoy, friends!
